Our client was tired of the outside of her home. She hated the scallops in the front of the house. She was tired of her home being knows as the “yellow house” in the neighborhood. There were a lot of issues with the soffits, fascia, etc. and she wanted a facelift.
Another problem she had was her windows were extremely drafty. Though they were old windows and not very energy efficient, we found another problem when we removed the trim – there was no insulation in the 1” cavity between the framing and window as you’ll see in the picture below! We recorded a video about this issue on our YouTube channel.
She also had issues with her gutters—sometimes resulting in water in the basement.
This client hired us to give her home a much needed facelift. We reworked the rafter framing to be able to put a solid LP Smartside soffit and fascia board on. This enabled us to put out seamless guttering and downspouts to eliminate water damage to the home. We installed Anderson 100 series new construction windows and retrimmed around the interior and exterior of the windows. A new garage door and opener was installed, and we primed and painted the home. We also updated the front porch with a nice modern design using western cedar and white paint.
Our client was thrilled to finally be proud of her home! She told me she thinks her home is now “the nicest in the neighborhood!” 😊
