Eastborough was established in 1937 and is known for its large, historic homes with lots of beautiful woodwork and custom features. However, in older homes often bathrooms and closet space are lacking. Our clients live in a beautiful Eastborough home, but wanted a bigger master bathroom with a walk-in closet. The current master bathroom was really choppy and the space was not too usable – not to mention outdated. We worked out a floor plan that would maximize the space by adding an addition.
We then began construction on a room addition on the back of the home. We really wanted to keep the architecture the same on their beautiful home. We added on about 7’x15’. This enabled them to have all the components they needed.
We built a custom shower with a line drain that turned out beautifully. We used the Schluter water proofing system to keep the shower completely water proof.
We installed this beautiful double vanity that really ties the bathroom into the rest of the home. We custom built a medicine cabinet to match the vanity for additional storage.
We also put in this gorgeous soaker tub with an in-line heater to keep the water warm.
This bathroom presented some challenges due to the original footprint, but with a lot of team work, we were able to produce a beautiful master bathroom that our clients can enjoy for years!
