Our clients wanted to update the front of their home for some curb appeal. They were tired of the Tudor style on the front of the home. They wanted to incorporate some cedar accents on their exterior as well.
We started by removing the existing siding. Next we added house wrap onto the exterior for added weather resistance. On the gable end (the triangular part) we installed LP smart Side shake siding. We painted the shakes a gray to really make it pop. We replaced the rest of the siding with typical lap siding and then built and installed cedar shutters. (In this picture we will still need to stain the shutters).
Our clients also wanted to update their porch posts with larger posts. We wrapped the existing posts with 1×8 cedar. We will stain these posts the same color as the shutters.
We also replaced the porch ceiling with tongue and groove carsiding. This really updated the look of front porch.
These small changes have really changed the look of the house and have given it added curb appeal.
